How I can assist you – acting as a self-employed consultant to your firm

Whether you are a sole practitioner, larger law firm or alternative business structure, the terms on which I work with Keystone Law permit me to work with you and other firms at the same time, as an independent consultant.

My work for you will be as a self-employed contractor. I am VAT-registered and will render invoices to you in my own name at the appropriate time. We will share the usual fees collected by you from your client. There are no additional charges for my work. You will have no obligation to pay me until you are paid.

Provided that my work for you as a consultant is covered by your professional indemnity policy, and subject to all other usual compliance, I can work as a fee earner in your firm, either providing snippets of advice or participating in or running longer projects.

If the alternative is for you to refer the work away, by engaging me you will be far better off. You will retain a much higher percentage than if you had referred the client to another firm on the basis of a referral fee, and you will retain the relationship with your client. I will enter into any reasonable covenant that you wish to propose. You will earn additional profits without any new overhead or time expended. You will not have to pay a recruitment fee or agency charges.

You do not have to find me an office – I have my own office. But if you wish me to attend at your office for days at a time or just for meetings, I have the flexibility to do so.
